MANSFIELD — Superintendent Teresa Murphy and Athletic Director Tim Selmon are excited to celebrate a historic season for the Mansfield High School Gymnastics team.

The 2024-25 season for the Mansfield Gymnastics team was a banner year as the team won the Hockomock League Davenport Division Dual Meet Title with an undefeated record of 8-0, placed first in the Hockomock Championship Meet, placed first in the MIAA South Sectional Championship and placed fourth overall in the MIAA State Championship meet.

With many student-athletes returning this season, expectations were already high, and the team delivered.

This year’s team repeated as Davenport Division Champions for the dual meet season, and they won 23 of their last 25 dual meets over the last three seasons.

The team also finished in first place again in the Hockomock Championship Meet for both the Kelly-Rex and Davenport Division teams.

In a very close meet at Algonquin Regional High School, the team won their second consecutive MIAA South Sectional Title, edging Newton North High School, to advance to the MIAA State Championship meet for the second year in a row.

This season the team improved to a third-place finish overall in the MIAA State Championship meet behind State Champion Masconomet and runner-up Newton North, and this Top 3 finish qualified them for the New England Championship Meet in Milford, Connecticut, at Jonathan Law High School.

At the New England Championship meet, with teams from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire attending, the team battled its way to a third-place finish behind New England Champion Newton North and runner-up Trumbull High School of Connecticut.

This year’s team was led by senior captains Bridget Boni and Riley Mattson and seniors Ella LeBlanc, Andrew Znoj and Camilla Lennon.

“The captains provided great leadership, enthusiasm and support for the team,” said Head Coach Lauren Dunn.

“In her two years as Head Coach, Lauren Dunn has guided the team to amazing accomplishments as a team as well as individual improvements for all of the gymnasts,” said AD Selmon. “Coach Dunn was assisted this year by Dustin Medeiros, who added his expertise and enthusiasm to help lift the program to new heights.”

The team graduates some amazing seniors but has a strong core returning back to compete again next season.
